The cell division rate is of crucial importance for characterizing the malignancy of tumors and is therefore a key issue that influences the right choice of therapy. As part of the interdisciplinary project, a joint project with partners in human and veterinary medicine, based at the FU Berlin and the two medical universities in Vienna, our goal is to make AI-supported automatic recognition of this important criterion in tumor diagnostics fit for clinical use using very large data sets. We are developing new methods of pattern recognition, in particular based on deep neural networks, with the aim of raising accuracy and clinical robustness to an unprecedented level.

Project Overview:

Participate in the groundbreaking DFG-funded project „muROMI“ that aims to enhance tumor malignancy detection via state-of-the-art AI. Collaborate with leading institutions such as FU Berlin and medical universities in Vienna.

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research in Computer Vision/Deep Learning.
• Present findings through publications and conferences.
• Assist in third-party funding proposals.
• Handle project management tasks.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Medical Informatics, or related fields.
• Advanced knowledge in Machine Learning/Computer Vision.
• Interest in medical image processing.
• Strong English & German skills (B2 level).
• Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Highly motivated and creative.
